Collection: Knoll Generation

In 2009, Knoll and Formway, a design studio based in New Zealand, collaborated to release the first Generation chair. By studying office footage for hundreds of hours, the team discovered that the typical worker adjusts their posture multiple times a day, not just when facing the computer at their desk. As a result, the chair needed to be adaptable to various situations, which became the inspiration for the design philosophy and the tagline, "The first chair that allows you to sit however you wish."
